Tyler Jacob is a singer/songwriter who got his start in the industry after being discovered in NYC. It has been a long journey from his days of growing up in Camden, New Jersey. However, he is ready to take his rightful place as one of the music industry’s most gifted and versatile vocalists.
At the age of 5 years old, he started singing and performing in school plays. He says that “I’ve always wanted to sing. It was a natural thing for me.” His family recalls little Tyler putting on shows in the family living room. “I don’t come from a family of singers. I’m the only one.” But it wasn’t until his freshmen year in high school did he realize others thought he had a gift, when he was accidentally placed in a choir class. “The choir teacher asked me to sing, so she could classify my voice.” The rest is history. After the choir teacher heard Tyler’s voice, she had him transferred to Creative Arts High School in Camden, New Jersey.
Tyler loves to sing, write and perform his own music, in English and Spanish, pushed him after he graduated from CAHS. Tyler Jacob has been featured on some of the hottest blogs including ThatGrapeJuice.net, MusicXclusives.com, SingersRoom.com, Kiddunot.com, TrueExclusives.com and countless others within the United States, Asia and Europe. The radio community also has embraced Tyler Jacob’s music (Urban Latino Radio, WKRB 90.3 FM, Kempire Radio). And he has graced some of NYC’s most legendary stages, including The Village Underground and BB Kings, and opened up for Grammy Award winner, Brandy, and logged studio time with Carvin & Ivan .
He says he was influenced by artists like Kim Burrell, Brandy, Tonex, Tank, Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild and Raheem DeVaughn.In the Fall of 2010, Tyler Jacob released his first promotional single, Cry No More; followed by his first official single release, titled, Face II Face. Tyler Jacob says, “I want people to connect to the stories in my songs and ultimately learn something from them. I know I have.”
Tyler continued to pursue his artistic ventures, in 2014, debuting his acting skills in Sikora‘s Hit Film “Egg of Darkness“. Late 2016, Tyler was flown to Atlanta where he was handpicked to be a season 1 of VH1’s “SIGNED,” with moguls Rick Ross, Lenny S. The Dream. After returning from Atlanta Tyler‘s desire to explore the fashion world and co-styling under the name TYxMANN which was very successful and allowed him the opportunity to work with some big names in the Industry including Saweetie, Noland Gould, Ariel Winter, Taryn Manning, Lil Mama, Christina Milian, Melanie Fiona, Chante’ Moore, his idol Brandy Norwood and legendary girl group En Vogue and many more.
In January 2019, he became the face of hip-hop street fashion living legend Karl Kani‘s vintage clothing line (likes of Aaliyah, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, P. Diddy) as well as Freelance Models for True Religion. He appeared on Grindr‘s national Valentine‘s Day “Be Your Own Cupid” campaign where he speaks up on being an advocate for self-love and being an advocate for suicide prevention.
Earlier in the year 2019, Tyler announced his return to music by producing his very own headlining show at the legendary Rockwood Music Hall.
