Singer Chinmayee Sripaada slams Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for beating his house help | – Times of India

A video of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan beating his house help went viral on Saturday evening on the internet. The Pakistani singer was seen beating his house help with a bottle mericilessly. Soon after, Khan released a video clarifying the whole incident. Rahat said that the man was his student who was punished because he made a mistake of misplacing a bottle which contained ‘dum kiya hua paani (holy water)’.The singer said that he later also apologised to him.
The man who was beated says in the video, “Ustad ji came and apologised to me. He is my father, murshid, guru and there is nothing wrong in a father punishing his son. Creating a controversy over this video is a way of blackmailing my ustad.”
But the internet is not in a mood to forgive him and thinks that he should be arrested. People do not believe his clarification and in any case, don’t think of it to be justified. Singer Chinmayee Sripada has also slammed him. She shared the video and expressed, “Some of these people behave like such gentle, soft spoken souls in public, one would never think they’d be capable of such inhumane behaviour. If only cameras existed earlier – more of those we celebrate as so called greats would have been exposed for what they actually were to other people. Horrendous.”

Chinmayee also reshared a tweet from a user on X, which read, “Rahat Fateh Ali Khan should be imprisoned. Period. It is not even relevant to ask why he beat his subordinate/shagird. The question is how a man can beat up, abuse, humiliate, and dehumanise another man in that way. And if this happens, humans collectively must teach people like Rahat a lesson so that everyone can learn.”
Netizens are quite furious and think that every time they hear a song of Rahat, they will be reminded of this incident.
