The long-awaited fifth ‘Avengers’ film, is undergoing some major changes!
New reports confirmed that Marvel Studios is in the process of altering not just the title of the film, ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘, but is working on entirely removing the character. This adjustment comes as the studio undertakes behind-the-scenes retooling for the upcoming instalment in the franchise.
The studio is reportedly taking swift action in response to recent legal developments involving actor Jonathan Majors, who was set to portray the pivotal villain. While Majors was fired from the MCU following a conviction for assault and harassment, his character and the role the villain will play in future projects remained uncertain. In light of these events, Marvel is reportedly in the process of revising its upcoming Avengers movies to accommodate the absence of Majors’ character. Originally slated for a significant role, the character will either be minimized or entirely removed from the storyline. This decision necessitates a change in the title of the first of the new Avengers films, previously titled ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’. Sources within the studio reveal that this alteration is not solely due to Majors’ legal troubles but also reflects a pre-existing intention to diminish the character’s presence, prompted by disappointing box office returns from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, which grossed $476 million.

After news broke, fans of the MCU wasted no time in suggesting the next big villain. Considering that the new ‘Fantastic Four‘ movie is in the works with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, fans have begun rooting for Doctor Doom as the next big villain. If not Doom, others even suggested Galactus as a good choice considering that he is one of the strongest villains and could up the stage for the Eternals to join forces with the new heroes in Phase 5.

Meanwhile, the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is the only MCU film releasing in theatres this year, on July 26. Rumours are rife that the movie plays a pivotal role in expanding the Multiverse Saga and setting up the sixth ‘Avengers’ movie titled ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ that is currently slated for a 2027 release.
