‘Rang De Basanti’ is scheduled for release on March 22.
When questioned about the certification status, Singh explained, “The film has undergone screening, and we have been informed of a few cuts required to obtain a UA certificate. Although we received a report on the 4th, there have been no further updates, and the certificate remains pending from the chairman’s office. On the portal, it indicates that the certificate is on hold from the chairman’s office. I have submitted a soft copy to the censor board, and if no progress is made, we will explore our options. I am unwilling to change the title as it would be impractical. The title belongs solely to me, and it is in Bhojpuri. Despite the existence of a Hindi film with the same title, a request has been made to change it.”

Furthermore, Singh remarked, “It is perplexing that we are being provided with a flimsy excuse regarding the similarity to the Hindi film’s title, yet recently, a Bhojpuri film titled ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ was approved by the censor board.”
In a letter addressed to the board, Singh has accused them of deliberately delaying the process and pressuring for a title change due to Chairman Prasoon Joshi‘s involvement in the Hindi film ‘Rang De Basanti.’
