The makers of ‘Amar Singh Chamkila‘ released a compelling snippet portraying a journalist confronting Chamkila, portrayed by Diljit Dosanjh. She accuses him of producing songs she deems sexist and objectifying to women.
The sequence unfolds with Chamkila visibly uncomfortable, averting his gaze from the female journalist’s Western attire. Sensing his unease, she confronts him, exposing his hypocrisy by pointing out how his songs demean women despite his discomfort with her attire.

Chamkila, however, staunchly defends his songs, asserting, “I’ve witnessed and absorbed these realities while growing up.

Not everyone has the luxury to contemplate right and wrong; some merely strive to survive. I’m just an ordinary man. I must create songs that resonate with people, or my career will perish.” He defends his status as Punjab’s highest-selling singer, stating, “Most individuals, like myself, are ordinary and have encountered similar experiences, which is why they connect with my music.”
