Fardeen Khan on 12-year break from Bollywood: Due to personal reasons I decided to take a break | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Actor Fardeen Khan, who was last seen in the film ‘Dulha Mill Gaya’ in 2010, is gearing up to make a comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT series ‘Heeramandi’. He will be seen playing the character of Nawab Wali Mohammed in the series. Ahead of the release, the actor revealed why he decided to take a break from the film in an interview.
During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Fardeen revealed the reason for taking a break from Bollywood. He shared, “Aap keh nahi sakte zindagi mein kis mod pe kya hota hai. Isse pehle 2010 mein meri aakhiri release thi, Dulha Mil Gaya. Aur kuch personal reasons ki wajah se maine ye theek samjha ki 2-3 saal ka break chahiye iss industry aur kaam se. Mujhe apne family pe concentrate karna tha. Lekin jab meri beti paida hui toh woh teen saal 6 se 8 saal ban gaye aur fir mera ladka paida hua. And then it just got longer and I was a full time dad.”
He further added that he was content doing that, but he yearned to be a part of his chosen profession, the one he had grown up doing, watching and learning. Over the course of these twelve years, many things have changed; the audience has evolved, and the way films are made has transformed. The actor stated that he has returned with the enthusiasm of a newcomer and is working with the same attitude.
Talking about his future plans, the actor shared, “While I am excited and nervous, I am also curious to know what kind of roles directors and writers will offer me after seeing my work. It’s not often that you can take a gap for so long and still be remembered and get an opportunity. I am excited for my children to see my work as I will be introduced to a whole new generation of cinema lovers.”
