Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut made a bold declaration during her campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The actress, who is contesting elections in Mandi, claimed that if she wins a seat, she will allegedly ‘quit’ the film industry.
Ranaut was asked if she would leave Bollywood upon winning the Mandi seat, and she responded saying, “Yes.”
She elaborated on her decision, to leave the film industry and told Aaj Tak, “The film world is a lie, everything there is fake.They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience. This is the reality.”Addressing how she would manage the demands of both Bollywood and a political career, Ranaut emphasized her passion-driven approach to life and how she applies the same criteria to her movies.
When told that her departure from Bollywood would disappoint many, she revealed that several filmmakers have already asked her not to quit the industry, citing that “we have one great heroine.”
Despite her political aspirations, Ranaut assured her commitment to her film projects that are currently in the works. Speaking to ANI, she said, “I have several films in the pipeline, including Emergency, Sita: The Incarnation which is a trilogy, Noti Binodini which is a biopic, and a thriller with Madhavan. I am committed to completing these projects.”
