Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Stree 2‘ has enjoyed a historic run at the box office. The film has been running in cinemas for around 42 days and the total collection so far in India is around Rs 580 crore. With this number which was unprecedented, ‘Stree 2’ has won hearts and how! Many have flocked to the theatres more than once to watch the film and there has been immense anticipation regarding the film’s OTT release.
‘Stree’ is steaming on Disney + Hotstar.But the sequel is expected to stream on Amazon Prime Video, according to reports. While the makers have not yet announced the release date of the movie on OTT, the film is expected to begin streaming from September 27, which is Friday onwards. However, this would be on rental basis for few more days.
There’s also a possibility that the movie’s OTT release might be delayed for a few days as it’s still running in theatres. In that case, one can expect the film’s OTT release in October. Fans will have to wait till September 27 to know if they’ll get to watch it digitally this month.
Meanwhile, the film has now crossed the business of Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Jawan’ which was the highest grossing movie of Hindi cinema. However, in terms of the footfalls, Sunny Deol starrer ‘Gadar 2’ remains on the top when it comes to the highest footfalls ever. As it had many people flocking to the single screens where the ticket prices were low.
‘Stree 2’ is directed by Amar Kaushik and also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana.
