S.K. Ali
Sajidah “S.K.” Ali is an Indian-Canadian writer of kids’ books, most popular for her Asian/Pacific American Award-winning presentation youthful grown-up original Saints and Misfits, about Janna Yousuf, an Indian-American hijabi who wrestles with getting physically attacked by a companion’s cousin from her nearby mosque.
Personal life
Ali was brought into the world in South India and moved to Canada when she was three. The main language she learned in school was French. She kept in touch with her 1st story in 7th grade. She has a degree in Creative Writing from York University. Beside composing, Ali likewise fills in as an educator and has composed articles for the Toronto Star. She makes reference to Judy Blume as one of her greatest motivations for her composing vocation. Ali is a rehearsing Muslim. In January 2017, she made the hashtag #MuslimShelfSpace as a method for focusing light on books by other Muslim writers. She lives with her family in Toronto. Ali is companions with individual scholars Ausma Zehanat Khan and Uzma Jalaluddin. Khan let a questioner know that they viewed themselves as the Sisterhood of the Pen, and valued remarks as they shared early drafts of their work.
