Exploring the pain of saying goodbye – without even saying it – Sarah P. drops her poignant and powerful new effort, “ICNSG”. Standing for “I Cannot Say Goodbye”, the track bleeds with vulnerability as the artist laments the loss of her loved ones. Delivering her raw vocals atop a swelling melody and triumphant chorus, “ICNSG” seamlessly captures the multifaceted nature of grief — how it comes and goes in waves, evoking sadness and happiness respectively.

“Grieving doesn’t have a start and end date. It is an ongoing process, regardless of what society thinks,” says Sarah P. on the track. “After my father passed away, I kept writing him notes, initially, out of my need to put into words the void I felt those first days without him. Slowly those notes became “diary entries”, packed with happenings and everyday things that I thought he’d appreciate knowing about. However, at some point, I stopped because the pain of the one-sided updates was growing bigger and bigger – when I was expected to start feeling “better and better”. Essentially, “I Cannot Say Goodbye” (ICNSG) reflects that period of my life: a bursting emotion, followed by big question marks that don’t seem to fade over time,” she adds.

Encapsulating this feeling of expanding emotions, the track accompanying music video is shot with a wide lens that cascades across mountainous regions in a total state of calm — proving that even when in turmoil, the world carries on. Hacked from her forthcoming EP, “Prayer”, “ICNSG” is just a taste of Sarah P.’s deeply contemplative soundscape, and we will have the tissues prepared for its release in early 2023.
