Sultan Masood Violinist
An Afghan Violinist from the SHAJAHANPUR GHARANA OF KOLKATA.
Mohammad Masood (known as SULTAN ) is an Afghan Violinist from the SHAJAHANPUR GHARANA OF KOLKATA. Masood, widely renowned as the Sultan started playing at the violin at the age of 11 years.
He is graduated from Afghanistan National Institute of Music ( ANIM), where he is cultivated music from esteemed disciplinarian like Ustad Jalil Sadeed, Ustad Ihsan Irfan, Ustad Irfan Mohammad Khan ( SAROOD player from India ). Ustad Haidar Azami, Ustad Basir Hussaini, Zack ( FRANCE ), Eden Macdom Summer( US ), William Harvey ( US ) among others.
Sultan, Now in India studying Indian Classical Music at GHANDHARVA MAHAVIDYALAYA Music Institute under the counsel of Ustad Aleem Khan from Delhi ( DILLI ) GHARANA & simultaneously acquiring extensive skills and knowledge of eminent Violinists like Anupriya Deotale, Ranjan Kumar Shrivastava.
Sultan Masood has been performing for the Afghanistan embassy in Delhi, India for a long time and has also given numerous concerts with Afghan Singers and Indian Artists.
He also performed with a horde of international artists like Japanese PIANIST Missa JOHOUSCHI. Who is the peace ambassador of UNESCO, American Violinist like EDEN MACDOM, and Indian Sarood Master ( MASOOD ’s GURU ) Ustad Irfan Mohammad Khan.
Sultan had worked with various Bollywood Artists like UDIT NARAYAN, SONU NIGAM, NIRALI KARTIK ( MATTIBAANI MUMBAI BASED BAND ), etc Sultan Masood has been a member of Afghan Music Bands like Sound studies, Afghan Vision, Voice of Peace, Blue Sky, Aryan Band, & Afghanistan Youth Orchestra. He taught violin at the Afghanistan Child Education and Care Organisation( AFCECO )

Honored as "GENIUS OF VIOLIN" by the Ministry of Culture, Kabul, Afghanistan in 2004.
Titled as "SULTAN" by Smt. Gurshaan Kaur, wife of former Prime Minister of India Shri Manmohan Singh
