Mukesh Rishi recalls accidentally striking Sunny Deol’s hand with a heavy sword during a fight scene in Ghatak | – Times of India

Mukesh Rishi, who is known for his negative roles in the 90s, recently reminisced about a memorable incident from the set of the 1996 film Ghatak, where he accidentally hit Sunny Deol‘s hand with a heavy sword during a fight scene. However, it was Sunny’s gracious response that left a lasting impression on Mukesh.
Recalling the incident, Mukesh told Rajshri Unplugged that their fight master Tillu Varma was known for his intense approach. During the filming of Ghatak, Tillu expected them to match his intensity. In one scene, both Mukesh and Sunny were given heavy swords for the fight.
“But during the scene, I made a mistake and I hit his hand with the sword. Immediately after the scene, lunch break was announced and I was tensed because you do these types of stunts when you trust each other,” Mukesh said.

‘Ghatak’s untold tale: Mukesh Rishi revisits the moment he accidentally hit Sunny Deol’s hand!

After the incident, Mukesh was beating himself up for losing concentration. Despite his distress over the mishap, Mukesh was touched by Sunny’s reassuring gesture. “A member of Sunny’s team approached me and conveyed, ‘Sunny sahab ne kaha hai I am alright (Sunny sir has said he is alright).’ I liked his gesture,” Mukesh recalled.

Mukesh shared another heartwarming anecdote of Deol’s generosity. During the shooting of Indian, Dimple Kapadia‘s younger sister Simple resided with her. One day, Simple was seen carrying a gadget that could record steps.
“I just praised that gadget and asked her where she got it from. Next time when I went on the set, Sunny sahab had already bought that gadget for me and kept it aside,” Mukesh concluded.
