Priyanka Barve is a passionate, dedicated, young dynamic playback singer. And She is one of the few artists from the new generation who can actually carry and portray singer-actress on the stage with sheer brilliance and excellence.
Biography
Priyanka carries the legacy of her family into music. Her grandfather Pt.Padmakar Barve was a great classical singer and composer, a top grade artiste of All India radio. Her grandmother Smt. Malati Pande Barve, a disciple of Late. Hirabai Badodekar, Jaggannathbua Purohit and Pt. Padmakar Barve, was a well-known playback singer of her time.
From childhood, Priyanka grew up listening to her grandfather and grandmother. As a child she was attracted to her grandmother’s style of singing. Afterward Priyanka took formal classical training from her father – Rajeev Barve and Smt.Madhuri Joshi. Currently she is learning ‘Gazhal’ form from Pt.Ravi Date. Her mother – Sangeeta Barve is a well know poetess.
Priyanka from a young age was awarded creative freedom, which has helped her to explore various fields of arts i.e acting, dancing, and singing, which has now been embedded in her, Priyanka is always keen to learn and absorb all the new things which can reflect and add to her personality.

Hosted a Tv series – Ude Ga Ambe Ude – on Colors Marathi.
Priyanka has portrayed the lead characters in ‘Sangeet Sounshay Kallol’ and ‘Sangeet Manapman’ with the famous classical singer Rahul Deshpande as ‘Revati’ and ‘Bhamini’.
Have performed the respected dramas in the most prestigious Bharangam festival in the National School Of Drama, Delhi. And the performance has been greatly admired by the audience and media.
Priyanka performed Sangeet Manapman – Musical play in Boston’s – Brihan Maharashtra Mandal Convention and received standing ovation and accolades from the present audience.
Have won the best Singing-Actor award from Ranagasangeet Pratishthan in 2010.
Had the opportunity to do a cameo in a Marathi hit film – Lagna Pahave Karun
Recently Priyanka got a golden opportunity to portray “Anarkali” in the legendary Mughal-E-Azam, which is been recreated on stage as a Broadway-style musical – directed by Feroz Abbas Khan. Now running at NCPA. She has received phenomenal love and appreciation by Bollywood celebrities, critics, and the audience.
