Sharmin Segal was seen portraying the role of Alamzeb in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s OTT debut series ‘Heeramandi‘: The Diamond Bazaar’. The actress, who is also SLB’s niece, garnered mixed reviews for her acting, with some calling it nepotism in Bollywood and others stating it could have been better.
Sharmin recently took to her Instagram account to share how important this journey had been for her over the last three years, adding some behind-the-scenes (BTS) pictures from the shooting set.

On May 13, she shared a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets of ‘Heeramandi’, expressing her gratitude and love for all her co-stars and the audience. She captioned the post, “#heeramandi BTS! So many memories made in the last 3 years! It is impossible to fit it all into one post! So many people that have been so supportive and kind. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this very special project love you all!” Sharmin’s candid pizza-craving pictures and her behind-the-camera rapport with Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Manisha Koirala were featured in this series of photos.

In an interview with BBC Asian Network, she revealed that there is a lot of pressure, and sometimes it manifests in weird ways. She called her sister her strongest support system, who was an assistant director on the same set. The actress talked about the importance of proving self-worth through skills rather than replying to everyone who criticizes. In a country with a large population, it is important not to shape life and career according to everyone’s opinion.
‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ was released on OTT on May 1.
