Chandu Champion celeb review: Shabana Azmi couldn’t stop crying, Javed Akhtar calls it inspiring – Times of India


Kartik Aaryan’ “Chandu Champion,” is currently garnering rave reviews from fans and audience alike. The biographical sports drama, based on the the life and triumphs of India’s first Paralympics gold medallist Murlikant Petkar, has been well-received by all.

Recently, veteran actor Shabana Azmi and renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar attended a private screening of the Kabir Khan-directed film recently.

When approached by paparazzi after the screening, the celebrity couple shared their thoughts on the movie.
The couple unanimously praised the sports drama, with Azmi commenting, “Boht achi hai (It’s very good).” She went on to express, “Mai toh ro-ro ke paagal ho gai aur Kartik ka kaam boht acha tha. Kabir ne boht acha kiya. Maine boht dino ke baad Kabir ki film dekhi aur usne pakad ke rakha second half pe bhi. (I couldn’t stop crying while watching the film and Kartik did a wonderful job. Kabir Khan (director) did a fantastic job. It’s been long that I have watched any of Kabir’s movie. The story kept us engaged even in the second half.)”
Agreeing with her sentiments, Akhtar nodded and added that it’s a truly inspiring narrative. Azmi continued, “Inhone boht bada karz chukaya hai ki itni achi kahani panno me gum ho gai thi aur usko 50 saal baad.. Abhi unkone (Murlikant Petkar) khud dekhi film aur vo ro rahe they. (The makers have brought such a great story to light after 50 years. Even Murlikant Petkar got teary eyes upon watching the film made on him.)”
Earlier, Ananya Panday had the exclusive opportunity to watch ‘Chandu Champion’ before its official release. The actress attended the premiere in a stylish yet comfortable brown slip dress and black slippers. Following the screening, she praised the film on Instagram, expressing her admiration and excitement to express her admiration for the film.

“Outstanding. You have to see it to believe it! @kartikaaryan @kabirkhankk (red heart emojis) and the entire cast and crew!” Ananya wrote, sharing the film’s poster on her Instagram stories.
