However, the sequel, ‘Indian 2‘, failed to meet expectations as it did not perform well at the box office. Meanwhile, actor Vijay Sethupathi once revealed that he turned down a role in this film.
In 2019, Sethupathi shared this information during a public event celebrating Kamal Haasan’s 60 years in Indian cinema.Vijay revealed that he was approached by the makers for a role in the movie but had to decline. However, the ‘Maharaja’ actor did not disclose the reason for rejecting the role. He further requested Kamal Haasan to give him another opportunity. Vijay also expressed a desire for Kamal’s co-stars to share their experiences working with the ‘Ulaga Nayagan’, believing it would benefit the current generation of actors in their careers.
