Bollywood singer Himesh’s father was laid to rest in Juhu, Mumbai.Emotional photos and videos have circulated on social media, showcasing Himesh as he exits the crematorium. He looks visibly moved and expresses his gratitude to the photographers gathered outside by folding his hands in thanks.
In various videos and photos producer Ramesh Taurani was also arriving to pay his respects at the funeral. Other celebs such as singer Shaan and filmmaker Farah Khan along with her brother Sajid Khan also spotted at the location.
Himesh’s father, music director Vipin Reshammiya, passed away on Wednesday evening at the age of 87. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he was being treated for breathing issues and other age-related health problems.
A close family friend, Vanita Thapar, confirmed the news of his death to ETimes. She said, “Yes, he had a breathing problem. He was in Kokilaben and passed away today at 8.30 pm. I am a family friend, more like family. I used to call him papa since the time he was making TV serials. Later, he became a music director, and then Himesh followed in his footsteps. We share a very close bond. Anup Singh, the numerologist, and I were also very close to him”.
Himesh’s family released a heartfelt statement regarding his father’s passing. It read, “It is with profound grief that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father Shri Vipin Reshammiya on September 18, 2024. A kind soul with a heart full of love, his presence lit up the lives of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, cherished memories and timeless music.”
