Pakistani singer Atif Aslam condenses decades of sporting grit, rivalry and team spirit into “Jeeto Baazi Khel Ke,” the official song of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, which takes place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from Feb. 19 to Mar. 9, 2025.
With various countries’ flags waved in the background, Aslam shows off a few dance moves as the video also goes into a carefree game of gully cricket taking place in the neighborhood. The song’s euphoric, desi music is made by Pakistani producer Abdullah Siddiqui, with lyrics penned by Adnan Dhool and Asfandyar Asad.
Aslam says in a statement, “I am very fond of cricket and I always wanted to be a fast bowler. Having the passion and understanding of the game – I feel connected to the adrenaline of the crowd, their cheers and the feeling of being a fan. I used to wait for matches in particular the India versus Pakistan game which was always full of emotions and sentimental value. And that is why I am very excited to have been a part of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 official song.”
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been commissioning a few official songs for their tournaments in recent times. Last year, they tapped girl group W.i.S.H for the song “Whatever It Takes” for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 as well as Scottish composer Lorne Balfe for a new ICC anthem. At the start of 2024 for the Men’s T20 World Cup, Jamaican hitmaker Sean Paul and fellow Caribbean artist Kes for “Out of This World,” whose Indian remix featured Mumbai rap star Divine.
