We all make embarrassing mistakes in our youth; it’s a rite of passage to becoming an adult. Still, Drew Barrymore surprised the audience of her talk show when she reminisced with Luke Wilson about the police catching her urinating behind the bushes before a Beck concert.
The Former Couple Thought of the Mortifying Event at the Same Time
Drew Barrymore and Luke Wilson only dated for a couple of years in the ’90s but have remained friends ever since. The two reminisce together on “The Drew Barrymore Show” when suddenly Barrymore says, “I just thought of a memory that wasn’t funny at the time,” and before she can finish her sentence, Wilson blurts out, “Beck.” “I got stopped for public urination,” she stated, cracking up immediately afterward and covering her face with her hand.
The actress demonstrated her shock at being caught behind the bushes while Wilson chuckled. “They detained us for a little bit and, you know, frisked us,” he responded. Lucky for them, the police let them off with a warning, just in time for the show. “And it was a great concert!” Wilson said as Barrymore giggled next to him. The pair went on to talk about their hopes of making a fifth movie together before giving each other a long hug to signal the end of the show.
Wilson is One of Many Exes Barrymore Has Had on Her Show
Barrymore comes across as someone willing to forgive and forget, and the fact that Wilson is not the first ex Barrymore has had on her show is more proof of that. In 2020, Barrymore reunited with her ex-husband, Tom Green, for the first time in 15 years, introducing him as “A wonderful, wonderful man.” Barrymore choked up several times during their conversation, realizing that they had both gone on to have entire lives in almost two decades since they were a couple. ” think the world of you, and I celebrate you, and I always have, and I always will,” she told Green.
Two years later, Barrymore introduced ex-boyfriend Justin Long to the “The Drew Barrymore Show” audience, and again, the conversation between the two showed what an extraordinary bond she maintains with the people she cares about. “I love that we’ve maintained our love,” Long told Barrymore. “Because I don’t think it’ll ever — now, I know from my end, it’ll never go anywhere.” As she started tearing him, he added, “I’ll love you always, you know.”
Six months later, Barrymore brought Corey Feldman onto the show, listening to him describe their first date years before they officially began dating. “I was, I believe, 12 or 13, and you were 10 or 11,” he reminded her. I remember taking you to the movies; I remember exactly which theater it was — it was the one next to Gelson’s parking lot.” After sharing more memories, things ended similarly to how they did with Long and Green — they professed how much they loved each other and embraced.
