The mom of the new baby that rocker Dave Grohl had outside his marriage to wife Jordyn Blum has confirmed her own identity but vowed to protect the baby from scrutiny.
Jennifer Young confirmed to The New York Post that she was the mother of Grohl’s youngest child. She is “a 38-year-old, Florida-born rock ‘n’ roll fan who now resides in Los Angeles with their child,” The Post reported, including a spread of photos showing Young with the baby but with the child’s face blurred out.
“Protecting her identity is really important,” Young said to the Post, “because there’s some really angry fans.”

According to The Post, “the nearly 7-month-old girl has even sported a helmet with stickers of Elvis, Led Zeppelin, and Keanu Reeves” and has been seen with Young around Los Angeles.
It’s not clear how much contact Grohl has with Young or the baby because she declined to comment, according to The Post.
She lives with her mother in a “modest home,” according to The Post. The Post article describes Young as resembling Grohl’s wife Jordyn Blum.
Dave Grohl Wrote That He Planned to Be a ‘Loving & Supportive Parent’ to the Baby Girl
Grohl revealed the existence of the baby in an Instagram post last year. The September post is still the top post on his Instagram page, which mostly features his writing and music career.
He wrote that the baby was “born outside my marriage.”
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he wrote.
Grohl has been seen with his wife publicly, with both wearing their wedding rings, according to Page Six, which reported on February 13 that Grohl was photographed “entering Blum’s BMW on Sunday after she picked him up from a house in San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles.”
“She doesn’t trust Dave. She’s not wearing her wedding ring,” a source told Page Six of Blum right after Grohl told the public of the baby. “She’s leaning on a group of girlfriends. She feels lucky to be surrounded by love and support.”
Grohl and Blum have three daughters together of their own.
