Former “The Bachelorette” star Michelle Young didn’t find lasting love by handing out roses on reality television, but she has found her Prince Charming. According to People on December 3, Young is engaged to Jack Leius.
“I hadn’t even slightly sensed this was happening today,” Young admitted of the elaborate setup Leius orchestrated for his proposal.
Michelle Young Thought She Was Shooting a Commercial
People noted that the proposal happened on October 24, and Leius pulled off a huge surprise. He set up a fake commercial shoot when in reality, he planned to propose.
Leius coordinated with Young’s management team to get everything in place. Young even signed a fake contract and had a phony script to learn.
When she arrived at the “set” location, Leius was waiting for her instead of a production crew. “I completely froze when I saw Jack standing in the middle of this beautiful flower arch of white roses,” Young recalled.
“I was fooled so badly that for a moment I thought the joke was that Jack was one of the male models that I would be working with at the shoot,” she admitted.
Young was confused, asking Leius, “Why are you here? Are you the other model? Aren’t you supposed to be in a meeting right now?”
She added, “I tried to say yes several times but was in shock that no words really came out. There were a lot of happy tears and of course I said YES!”
People noted that the engagement ring Leius designed with Wedding Day Diamonds has a “3.56-carat emerald-cut diamond.”
‘The Bachelorette’ Star Hinted That Leius Was ‘The One’
Leius pulled off the perfect surprise for the proposal, even though Young had hinted a while ago she saw him as “The One.”
In August, Young posted a photo on her Instagram page showing her wearing a Minnesota Twins baseball jersey with “Leius” on the back. “Let’s call it foreshadowing,” she teased in the caption.
Bachelor Nation expressed their joy for Young and Leius after she shared her engagement news on Instagram.
Fellow “The Bachelor” alum Magi Tareke, who was on Matt James’ season alongside Young, commented, “❤️❤️❤️ This is so beautiful and I am so happy!!!”
A supporter wrote, “I am beyond happy for them! Michelle. you are such a beautiful soul and deserve all blessings!”
Fans also shared their excitement for Young and Leius in “The Bachelor” subreddit.
