Wendy Starland is an American singer, songwriter and music producer from Los Angeles.
Starland was honored by The Songwriters Hall of Fame, was named VH1’s, “Best Emerging Artist”.
She is a featured lead vocalist on multi-platinum artist Moby’s Grammy nominated album, Last Night, which went to #1 on the Billboard charts. She has also sung backup for Michael Bolton on CBS’s The Early Show and has opened for Sean Paul, Grandmaster Flash, Shawn Colvin, Vonda Shepard, Foo Fighters, Fishbone, The English Beat, Sony artist Mike Posner, and Universal/Verve artists Jonatha Brooke and Lucy Woodward. She has written and recorded duets with The Wu Tang Clan, and Capone of Island Def Jam’s Capone & Noriega.
CAREER
Starland produced and cowrote the RapScallions hit song “Can You Feel It.” The song has been licensed to the NHL and NBA on FOX Sports and is also played by the LA Kings, NY Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, Indiana Pacers, San Diego Padres, Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Blues, NY Giants and Denver Broncos for in-game entertainment in their arenas.”Can You Feel It” has also been licensed by Carl’s Jr, Harley-Davidson, and Mercedes-Benz.
Her pictures and music are used by fashion diva Donna Karan, celebrity clothing line Boy Meets Girl, Cakewalk by Roland, Mobile Vision Player, Milestone Brand beverages, and skin care/ makeup line, Beauty Society, in their ad campaigns to represent their multi-million dollar companies (featured on network TV – ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, as well as Teen Vogue, Teen People, Cosmo Girl, Elle Magazine, and The New York Times, including MTV’s hit series “The Hills” the lead promos for 2 NBC primetime series, “Las Vegas” and “Hawaii” and ABC’s “Regis and Kelly.” Wendy collaborated with legends and Grammy winners for her upcoming album: Stephen Bishop,Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta, Arturo O’Farrill, Oz Noy and the A.C.O. Val Vibrata Symphony Orchestra in Abruzzo, Italy.
Wendy was solely responsible for discovering Lady Gaga and landed her a production deal with Rob Fusari (Beyonce, Jessica Simpson, Whitney Houston, etc.) that resulted in Gaga signing major label record and publishing deals. Wendy and Lady Gaga have written songs together that were produced by multi-platinum producer, Rob Fusari, for whom Wendy was writing with regularly for a 2-3 year period.
Starland is a runway model for designer, Gordana Gelhausen, winner of the television series, “Project Runway”. She is also the face of Bvlgari designer’s jewelry line, Anna e Alex, featured in Vogue and ELLE magazine where her music is offered as a download with purchase.Starland was featured on Zimbio’s “Hottest Couples at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
