‘Monkey Man’ trailer: Sobhita Dhulipala makes Hollywood debut in Dev Patel directorial | – Times of India


Oscar-nominated actor Dev Patel is set to make waves in the film industry as he steps into the director’s chair for the upcoming action-thriller, ‘Monkey Man’. The film, drawing inspiration from the legendary Hanuman, promises a riveting narrative of revenge and redemption.
In this cinematic venture, Patel not only takes on the role of the protagonist, Kid, but also explores his directorial skills.According to reports, Kid is portrayed as an anonymous young man surviving in the shadows of an underground fight club, where, night after night, he dons a gorilla mask and endures brutal beatings from more popular fighters, all for the allure of monetary gain.

The first trailer which dropped on Friday night, offers a glimpse into the intense action sequences reminiscent of Keanu Reeves’ ‘John Wick’ movie, as Patel’s character embarks on a quest for vengeance, employing firearms, blades, and sheer brutality against his adversaries.

Actress Sobhita Dhulipala makes her Hollywood debut in ‘Monkey Man’, and she enthusiastically shared the action-packed trailer on her social media, describing it as an “absolute joy” to introduce her debut Hollywood film.

Initially slated for a digital release on Netflix, the film, backed by the acclaimed Jordan Peele, has undergone a significant change in its release strategy. “Monkey Man” is now set to hit theaters worldwide on April 5, providing audiences with a cinematic experience.
The film’s logline unveils the core of the storyline, stating, “After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.”

The international ensemble cast adds depth to the project, featuring names such as Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Ashwini Kalsekar, Adithi Kalkunte, Sikandar Kher, and Makarand Deshpande, promising a gripping cinematic experience for audiences worldwide.
