Netflix has announced an upcoming documentary series centered on Indrani Mukerjea, following the release of her book ‘Unbroken’. Titled ‘The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth‘, this true crime series is set to premiere on February 23, 2024, on the streaming platform. Offering viewers a deep dive into the disturbing aftermath of 25-year-old Sheena Bora‘s disappearance, the documentary promises new revelations and unprecedented access.It aims to unravel the shocking real-life crime case that captured the nation’s attention.
Now, the makers have unveiled the official poster of ‘The Indrani Mukerjea Story: Buried Truth,’ promising an intriguing crime documentary. Netflix has also confirmed the release date as February 23, alongside this announcement.

In 2023, Indrani released her book, ‘Unbroken’, detailing a family gathering planned for August 25, 2015, to celebrate her birthday. However, her life took a drastic turn on that day as she left Anand Ashram and a civil dressed policeman from the Mumbai Police approached her, accusing of the murder of her daughter, Sheena Bora.
Indrani left no stone unturned in her autobiography, ‘Unbroken’, where she told her life’s journey. From her formative years in Guwahati to her experiences in 1980s Calcutta, her rise to prominence in Mumbai’s media landscape, and ultimately, the 2,460 days as a prisoner with number 1468 in Byculla jail, every detail was laid uncovered in the autobiography.
