![Growing up learning Indian Classical Music, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for diverse musical genres, and techno is definitely one that has captured my interest. However, it’s the response from her Chinese fans that has garnered the attention of many, as they’ve opted to voice their sentiments publicly.
On March 4, reports emerged on online communities detailing the presence of trucks stationed outside the SM Entertainment building, carrying pointed messages directed at Karina. One truck bore a demand for an apology, with a message quoted by Koreaboo stating, “Is the love fans give you not enough? Why did you choose to betray fans? Please personally apologize to us. Otherwise, you will see the drop in album sales and empty concert venues”.
The second truck adopted an even harsher tone, rebuking Karina for allegedly jeopardizing her own career. “Karina, rather than feeling sorry towards the fans, you should be sorry to the you who has worked hard for seven years. You messed up your own career yourself. All your efforts have been denied by a single dating rumor. Are you satisfied?” the message read.
Despite the outcry from some quarters of the fandom, others have come forward to defend Karina’s right to happiness in her personal life. They argue that she should not be blamed for having a romantic relationship, and that her happiness should not come at the cost of her career or personal freedom.
