Shahid Kapoor is on a roll it seems! Post the success of his OTT debut, ‘Farzi’, Shahid got a lot of love for ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ with Kriti Sanon. The film is considered a success owing to its moderate budget. Meanwhile, he’s currently shooting for ‘Deva‘ and recently, it was announced that he’s the new Aswatthama. This Pan-Indian film will release in five languages and is set to be directed by Sachin Ravi.While his fans are still settling in with the excitement of seeing him as ‘Ashwatthama’, a latest report suggests that Shahid is set to play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
As per a report in Pinkvilla, one of the leading producers of the Telugu film industry, Dil Raju has partnered with Wakaoo Films to make a film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s life. The makers have roped in Shahid for the part. The report suggests that this is one of the most ambitious movies of Indian Cinema and the makers are looking to celebrate the valor of Chhatrapati Shivani Maharaj on such a huge spectacle. The film will be directed by ‘OMG 2‘ director Amit Rai.
Earlier, Shahid and Dil Raju were supposed to team up for Anees Bazmee’s comedy but things didn’t fall into place due to creative differences. At the moment, the writing and research is underway as they want to make it as authentic as possible. The makers are planning to have a Pan India release in different languages!
At the moment, Shahid is shooting for ‘Deva’ co-starring Pooja Hegde. Helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, ‘Deva’ is an action thriller.
