Aayush Sharma reveals his father thought he had ‘no chance’ of becoming an actor: ‘You don’t have the looks, the height, the personality’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma, who made his acting debut with the film ‘Loveyatri’, is Salman Khan’s brother-in-law and the grandson of the late Congress politician Pandit Sukh Ram, from Himachal Pradesh. Recently, the actor revealed that he had lied to his parents about travelling to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting and that when his father learned the truth, he wasn’t exactly full of encouraging words.
In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Aayush revealed that during his struggling period, he had been turned down for 300 auditions. He also mentioned that he had been sent home twice after being forced to wait all day for scheduled photo shoots. He also disclosed that he was a background dancer for the ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ movie’s song ‘Dilli Wali Girlfriend’. Aayush stated he attended school in New Delhi but enrolled in a college in Mumbai in order to try his hand at acting.
Aayush disclosed his father was under the impression that after completing college in Mumbai, he would move back to Himachal. He further added, “I remember when I broke the news to him. He told me, ‘Look son, you don’t have the height, you don’t have the body, you don’t have the looks. Your hair isn’t great, your voice isn’t great. You walk on the street and nobody is going to give a second glance. You have no chance. You’re not as strong as Dharmendra, you don’t have Amitabh Bachchan’s height, you’re not even as charming as Dev Anand. You have no chance, come back home’.”
Aayush expressed his satisfaction at having overcome every shortcoming his father had pointed out. “I have a body, I have good hair, I’m also tall,” he said.
Earlier, during a recent interview with husband-wife duo Bharti and Harsh, Aayush remembered another story about his father. The actor recalled the time he disclosed the news about getting married to Salman’s sister Arpita to his father. His father told him, “Kaam tu kuch karta nahi hai, paise tu kama nai raha, upar se shaadi kar raha hai woh bhi aise ladki se jiske paas itna paisa hai. Uske kharche kaise uthayega?”
On the work front, Aayush made his debut in Bollywood with the film ‘Loveyatri’. He then worked alongside Salman Khan in the film ‘Antim: The Final Truth’. He will next be seen in the action film Ruslaan, his first project outside the home production.
