Vidya Balan, who is busy with the promotions of her upcoming film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, was all praises for Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon’s recently released film ‘Crew’ that is dominating the box office. The idea that all action-packed, masculine films are financially successful was also debunked by Vidya.
During an inaugural session of The Indian Express, Vidya said, “Not all macho blockbusters are doing well.I think we need to remember that and here’s a film that had three women lead it, and it was so much fun. They were’nt taking themselves too seriously, and it thrills me that a film with three women – and at the age that they are at, is doing so well.”
The actress also discussed how the perception of female-led films has changed in the film business. She said, “It’s actually changing a lot. We are experiencing that change as its happening. It is a wonderful time. I was a little worried after the pandemic because people were a bit conservative about women-led films and all that, but obviously, it is a better time now.”
On the work front, Vidya Balan will be seen next in the film ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’, which is set to release on April 19. The film also stars Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy in the lead roles.
