Aayush Sharma discloses that he danced in background for Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘YJHD’, remembers being told to ‘get out’ by a director during the audition process | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Actor Aayush Sharm, who made his debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan’s production film ‘Loveyatri’, encountered various difficulties in his early days. Recalling his desire to pursue a career in acting, Aayush disclosed that he had performed background dance for the song ‘Dilliwali Girlfriend’ from ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor.
In a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Aayush talked about his first-ever experience on the film’s set. He said, “The first time I came to Mehboob Studios was for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Someone told me ‘Why are you working as a background dancer.’ I said that I wanted to see what a film set looks like and to see how the shoots happen. I couldn’t find a job as Assistant Director. At one point, I wanted to become a casting director, thinking that I could get on the set through this. I remember that I had a shoot for YJHD at Mehboob Studios. It was a beautiful moment as there were 300-400 background dancers and I was one of them. Then I saw Manish Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and then I saw Ranbir Kapoor entering the set for the Dilliwali girlfriend song shoot.“
Recollecting his experiences from the audition and how, with just Rs. 20 in his pocket, he gave an audition. He said, “I hold my memories close to me. It’s funny sometimes to think that some casting directors have rejected me before and now when I meet them, they tell me that I liked your films. They don’t even remember that they rejected me before.” He further stated that there was one director who asked him to get out.
On the work front, Aayush Sharma is busy with the promotions of his action film ‘Ruslaan’. Helmed by Karan L Butani, the film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Sushrii Mishraa, and Vidya Malavade in pivotal roles.
