In anticipation of the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s highly awaited series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,’ actor Taha Shah recently shared his exhilarating journey of being cast in the show, along with insights into his interaction with the esteemed filmmaker.
During a conversation with Pinkvilla, Taha Shah delved into his initial meetings with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which he described as nothing short of iconic.Initially cast for a three-day role, Taha was pleasantly surprised when Sanjay Bhansali offered him a more substantial character named Balraj after discussing his previous work. Thrilled with the upgrade, Taha expressed his satisfaction at portraying a revolutionary character, describing it as his desired opportunity.

However, fate had another surprise in store for Taha. Following a look test for the role of Balraj, Bhansali unexpectedly offered him the role of Tajdar, citing something he observed in Taha’s eyes. “From that, it took me 3 months to get a call from him to confirm my role as Tajdar. I was just happy to be part of the show,” he shared.

Overjoyed and taken aback by the unexpected turn of events, Taha described the moment as surreal, emphasizing his desire to play the character of Tajdar, the leading man in the series.

Reflecting on this pivotal meeting, Taha expressed gratitude for the opportunity and excitement for the future. He regarded this experience as potentially marking his “second innings” in the industry, hopeful that it would pave the way for diverse roles and new opportunities.
