The untimely demise of Anil Mehta, father of Malaika and Amrita Arora, came as a big shock for his family. Anil Mehta, 62, was cremated on September 12, 2024, at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium in Mumbai, with a significant turnout of friends and family members paying their last respects.
Malaika Arora arrived at the crematorium accompanied by her mother, Joyce Polycarp, and her son, Arhaan Khan.The atmosphere was somber as they prepared to say goodbye to a beloved father and grandfather. Anil Mehta was found dead in the premises of Ayesha Manor in Bandra, Mumbai on September 11. A post-mortem was conducted at Bandra’s Bhabha Hospital. According to News18, the post-mortem conducted on Wednesday night at around 8 pm revealed that Mehta died due to “multiple injuries”.
Malaika shared a heartfelt statement on social media, expressing the family’s deep sorrow. She described her father as a “gentle soul” and requested privacy during this difficult time. Malaika Arora’s note read, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock over this loss, and we kindly request privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult time. We appreciate your understanding, support, and respect.”
