Echampati Gayathri (née Gayathri Vasantha Shoba), prominently known as

Echampati Gayathri (née Gayathri Vasantha Shoba), prominently known as “Veena Gayathri”(born 9 November 1959) is a veenaexponent of the conventional Carnatic music. She was named by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J.Jayalalithaa, as the primary Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Music and Fine Arts University in November, 2013.

E. Gayathri was brought into the world on 9 November 1959 to Kamala Aswathama, a veena vidushi, and to G. Aswathama, a movie music chief in the Telugu entertainment world. Her dad named her Gayathri Vasantha Shoba. Gayathri originally prepared under her folks and later under Sangita Kalanidhi T. M. Thyagarajan, a Carnatic singer and writer.
