Mithun Shyam - an Indian Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and teacher based in Bengaluru.

Shyam is a student of Guru Padmini Ramachandran and is trained in the Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam. He is an ‘A’ graded artiste of Doordarshan and is also empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. His dance productions include Purushantaragatah,Shyama Sundari, Manaha, 18 Golden Steps, Bibi Nachiyar,Gandarva Abhinaya, etc. He established the dance institution Vaishnavi Natyashala, in Bengaluru in 1998.

Vaishnavi Natyashala, situated in Banaswadi, Bangalore (East), was established in the year 1998 by Natyacharya Shri Mithun Shyam with the aim to spread the Indian art, culture and traditions. It has grown exponentially over the years and currently trains more than 500 students in Bharatanatyam, Carnatic Vocal and Yoga in a spacious infrastructure of 7000 sq ft catering to the artistic requirements of the Bangalore East Zone.

The focused dedication of Natyacharya Shri Mithun Shyam and the relentless support offered by the members of the Vaishnavi Natyashala trust, dance teachers and other expert professionals have resulted in this incredible growth of the institute.

The students of Vaishnavi Natyashala are active participants in State and National Level Competitions gaining recognition for their flair and depth in this divine art form. Many of them have also performed in reputed dance festivals at Sabhas and temples across the country.

Vaishnavi Natyashala has produced many students, who won several titles like Natya Mayuri, Bala Prathibha and Prathibha Karanjee awarded by State Government and Cultural Associations across India and also gained distinctions in the examinations conducted by Karnataka Secondary Examination Board. With their attractive and beautiful performances, they have taken the name of Vaishnavi Natyashala up to a new pinnacle.

Vaishnavi Natyashala has taken a step ahead in promoting the art, culture and Indian values among the youngsters by launching an international dance magazine “NRITHYAM”. We have been successful in creating a wave of interest and setting a trend for the growth and popularization of Indian dance and culture by reaching out to hundreds of readers across the globe.
