![Growing up learning Indian Classical Music, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for diverse musical genres, and techno is definitely one that has captured my interest. Got inspired to write this track by blending the beautiful melodies of Hindustani classical, particularly Raag Bhairav, with the beats of techno. Excited to share this fusion with you all!

The bandVökwas formed in January 2013 by singer Margrét Magnúsdóttir and saxophonist Andri Enoksson after two years of working together. The name “Vök” was suggested by Enoksson. Vök are an Icelandic dream pop and indietronic band from Reykjavík.
They met through mutual friends and had been best friends for many years before the idea of making music together popped up. Forming the band was an accident! They had been playing around and learning to make music together for some time but the band was really only made to perform at Músiktilraunir (Battle of the bands).
They were just experimenting and wanted to see if they could perform their music live and how they would go about doing just that.
The introduction was successful. The first concert ever was at the prestigious Icelandic music experiments which they even won.
Since then Margrét Rán and Andri Már Enoksson played many of Icelands biggest festivals. In mid-2013, Vök was joined by guitarist Ólafur Ólafsson.

- Einar Hrafn Stefánsson – guitar, bass guitar
- Bergur Einar Dagbjartsson – drums, percussion (2019–present)
And so the duo grew to a trio. The future looks bright for this young and upcoming band.
Writing and composing for them is a good way to ventilate any frustrations, sadness or to express joy. They say, they usually bond to a certain type of atmosphere that a beat gives off, then if the mood is right at the time the motivation comes from within. There are many different places they love to sit and compose and one of their favorites is a summer house in the country where Iceland’s nature just compels them to write.
They are inspired by some of the artists as Portishead, Air, Massive Attack and Beatles.
