How pencil sketches of jewelry on paper napkins and the margins of school notebooks became the beginning of Alexandra Chudakova’s path to her dream.
Alexandra Chudakova dreamed of creating designer jewelryaccording to her own sketches. And for this, she had every opportunity: she attended an art school and painted beautifully, was interested in the nature of stones and crystals, was seriously engaged in chemistry, and graduated from the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University. Thus, Alexandra’s childhood hobbies gradually grew into her life’s work – she participates in the development and creation of exclusive jewelry collections for the most famous jewelry brands.
– How did you understand that this is your life’s work?
– I have always been partial to unusual, bright jewelry. Studying at an art school, I drew rings, earrings, pendants. At the same time, I was strong in chemistry from school and made science my profession. So, creating a sketch of a product, I always know what metal it can be made and what stones will be harmonious here. Representatives of the Spanish company drew attention to me during one of the design competitions for the best sketch on a given topic.
– Jewelry – is it a daily job for you or something more?
– Not work and not life’s work. This is my whole life. I am a woman, and I love jewelry. But I love not only wearing them but also inventing them. Making luxury jewelry is a fascinating world. History lives in them. They are created from the finest precious materials. They are chosen in the tireless desire for possession and are worn with trepidation and pride. I like to create unique pieces that will win the hearts of the brand’s fans once and for all.
After winning the competition, Alexandra ended up in the jewelry house of her dreams – Carrera y Carrera. She took up the position of leading jewelry technologist and, at the same time, participated in the design development of the collections.
This period of Alexandra’s professional life is full of many awards and diplomas. First places in various nominations for the best jewelry, innovative approach, and exclusivity at the Cosmoscow international contemporary art fair and the festival Art.up Art.in, at BaselWorld and Hong Kong Jewelry & Gem Fair, n; jewelry salon in Odessa and the XII International Exhibition of Jewelry and Fashion Industry “Golden Season-2018”. Alexandra Chudakova was also a member of the expert jury of the Prize for Young Talented Artists organized by Carrera y Carrera, the Swiss bank Credit Suisse, and the Sochi-InterYuvelir International Jewelers’ Competition.
In the spring of 2019, Alexandra Chudakova moved to the leading consulting company Business Uvconsulting, on behalf of which she today acts as an expert and leading consultant on the development of sketches of future collections and the chemical and technological features of jewelry. Alexandra collaborates with both emerging jewelry brands and eminent jewelry houses that attract the best minds and talents worldwide to create their exclusive collections. Since the beginning of 2020, Alexandra has joined the brand team of the Geraldo jewelry company and provides them with consulting services for the development of projects and the design of unique jewelry with precious stones and unique alloys. With the support of Alexandra Chudakova, the Geraldo brand has also developed GERALDO Spheres. Their exclusive products can be worn as an independent accent piece and harmoniously combined with each other. As Alexandra predicted, fans of the brand appreciated this luxurious versatility.
