Yazin Nizar : Indian playback Singer

The Telugu music lovers and film audience are well aware of Yazin Nizar and his hit songs. ‘Seethakalam Sooryudila’ from ‘S/o Satyamurthy’, ‘Jiya Jale Jale’ from ‘Loafer, ‘Meghalu Lekunna’ from ‘Kumari 21F’, ‘Chirunama Thana Chirunama’ from ‘Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada’, ‘O Vasumati O Vasumati’ from ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’, ‘Chandamame’ from ‘118’, ‘Bali Bali Ra Bali’ from ‘Baahubali’ and this list can never be exhaustive.

Born on 9 February in Kollam, Kerala, into a Malayali family, Nizar is known for his melodious voice and specializes in various genres such as Classical, Sufi, Ghazal, Rock, Pop and many others. Yazin developed an interest in music early in his life. He has been training in Carnatic music and Hindustani music since his school days amd was part of bands in childhood and he was an active participatent in school youth festivals. He was awarded ‘kalapraibha’ in state and regional CBSE youth festivals and was also the winner of major TV competitions like ‘Gandharva Sangeetham’, ‘Sangeetha Maha Yudham’ and ‘Apple Megastars’ in his teens.

After completing his schooling, he completed his MBA in Finance and Marketing from Asian Memorial Institute of Management, Chennai. His singing skills have impressed a large number of people including music directors and producers to a great extent, he has sung in movies for many leading South Indian film composers in various languages including Ilaiyaraaja, Amit Trivedi, Vidyasagar, Devi Sri Prasad, M. M. Keeravani , Mani Sharma , G. V. Prakash Kumar, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Ghibran, , Ouseppachan, Rahul Raj , Vijay Antony, M. Jayachandran, Sharreth, Bijibal, and Gopi Sundar.

“Charusheela” from the Telugu blockbuster Sreemanthudu was one of the biggest hits of 2015, as was “Yavvana” from the Tamil film Satya and “Kolussu Thenni” from the Malayalam film Cousins. His songs for Telugu films such as “Meghalu Lekunna” (Kumari 21F), “Seetakalam” (Son of Satyamurthy), “Apple Beauty” (Janata Garage), “O Sitara” (Winner), “O Vasumathi” (Bharat Ane Nenu), “Nalo Chilipi Kala” (Lover), “I Love You Too” (Shivam), and “Oka Poota Annam Kosam” (Bichagadu) are very popular. His other popular songs include “Avatha Payya” from the critically acclaimed movie Paradesi in GV Prakash’s music, the track “Jayalakshmi” from Saithan, “Sajalamai” from the movie 101 Weddings in Deepak Dev’s music, and “Veyil Poyal” from Bhaiya Bhaiya, composed by Vidyasagar.

He has won many awards which include Best Vocalist of the Year award at Mirchi Music Awards, South in 2016 for the song Meghalu which was in the movie 21 Kumari F. He was also the winner of Gandharvasangeetham. He was also nominated for Filmfare awards not once but twice. He won the best upcoming singer award at Mirchi Music Award South and GAMA Dubai. He was also the 2015 winner of Kaviyarasu Kannadasan Award and Raga-thiprabha award in 2014. Yazin Nizar is undoubtedly one of the amazing singers that the South Indian music industry has ever witnessed.
