Olumide was born inEdinburgh, Scotland. She has dual British and Nigerian nationality. Her civil servant mother, Victoria Monie, moved fromNigeriato Scotland when Olumide’s father, Abraham Olumide, was posted with the Navy toRosythinFife. She achieved afirst-class Bachelor of Artsdegree in Communication and Mass Media atGlasgow Caledonian University.By the age of 21, she had apostgraduate degreeinFilm StudiesatQueen Mary University of Londonand a MA inMetaphysics, after getting a scholarship to study at theUniversity of Pennsylvania.

Her debut spring summer collection was inspired by her Afro-Scottish background and ancestry, a balance of European/British style tailoring and traditionally African fabric and patterns.In 2016 she collaborated withPuma,Top ShopandEvisuon selected pieces, and produced an accessories collection in 2017 consiting of spring summer and autumn winter sunglasses for men and women.In 2018 some of this went to the National Museum of Scotland archive. Olumide produced an On-Schedule show for theBritish Fashion Councilfor London Fashion Week.NGRGFW included question and answer sessions featuring Dennis Calpone, Afuah Hirsch, Emma Dabiri and Nish Kumar as well as a fashion show.

She has played at venues across Europe and the United States includingThe Apollo,Lovebox Festival, The Great Escapes Festival, The Groucho Club, Soho House,Glastonburyand Websterhall NYC withMatt Sorum.Olumide performed withSkepta,Wileyand joinedRoots Manuva‘s Banana Clan. She toured the United States withThe RootsandMos Defin Orlando, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta, and at theBonnaroo Music Festival, a four-day event in Tennessee. She also supported Police Academy’sMichael Winslowin the U.S. and UK.In 2018, Olumide joined 26 other celebrities atMetropolis Studiosand performed an original Christmas song called Rock With Rudolph. Olumide played the character Afsha in BAFTA Award winningTrouble Sleeping. In 2017 she took on the role of Rosie inAfter Louisewhich starredGreg Wise. Olumide appeared in a short,One Sweet Oblivios Antidote’, withLenny Henry‘.She also had minor parts inStar Wars Rogue One,The Last JediandAbsolutely Fabulous.In 2019 she landed a role inNoughts and Crossesalongside rapperStormzy, produced byShawn Corey Carteralso known as Jay Z at Roc Nation USA.

Olumide produced and directed a showMetamorphthrough Open Art Surgery at theTraverse Theatreand foundedThe Official Youth on the Fringeat theEdinburgh Festival Fringe, then went on to secure the lead role inThe Chicken Trialat the Pleasance courtyard.In 2017 she performed live at The Stand headlined byStephen K Amos,Katherine Ryan,Trevor Noahand Dane Batiste. Olumide also produced rap comedy battles with a host of comedy talent includingRomesh Ranganathan.
