Jermaine carter, who performs under the stage name “j young”, is an american actor, rapper, singer, song-writer. J young made a name for himself in 2007 by fearlessly battling some of raps elite artists, such as cassidy, live on hot 107.9 — atlanta’s most popular hip hop radio station — during their freestyle contest. he quickly established himself as an up-and-coming force to be reckoned with by dazzling listeners with his creative style and wordplay, and has been co-signed by major artists such as fat joe. His,2019 album titled Now or Never that was executive produced by Jamie Foxx. He has also released singles called “Drip” featuring Sammie and “Savage” featuring Verse Simmonds.He was named the ‘Freestyle Champion’ of the ‘Roc the Mic’ tour led by Jay-Z after winning a rap battle between himself and Cassidy in 2006. He was invited to become a host/artist on a popular DVD series entitled Cheddar volume 9 in 2008.

Young bested all of his competitors and this accomplishment served as a launching pad for his music career. This led to Young landing his first opportunity to be a performing artist on the Roc The Mic Tour headlined by Jay Z. Young was later invited to become a host/ artist on a popular DVD series entitled Chedda and Young’s input on the DVD series gave him national exposure as a hot, new up-and-coming artist.J young has since produced records with jamie foxx, jim jones, young thug, and other world-renowned artists. recently, j young was featured on the hit single, “drunk mess” with young thug, which surpassed 500,000 streams within the first two weeks. his record, “drip” featuring r&b crooner sammie, garnered over 100,000 streams in the first week. other records such as “trappin” and “blue hunnids” have also been climbing the charts.

In 2017, j young burst onto the big screen by co-starring in meek mill’s mini-movie “wins or loses”, which eclipsed 5 million views. in 2018, j young landed a starring role with future in the apple music movie “feds did a sweep“, which quickly soared to over 10 million views. other acting roles include bb&t commercial (2018), hussein in tupac all eyes on me movie (2017), and starring role as tupac on oxygen’s “snapped” (2017)
