Rok Kadoic is a Film Maker, Director and the founder of the brand NoGravity Media, located in Slovenia. His story is not typical. He did not have his father’s camera and started filming movies at some point.
When he was a boy he spend my days watching movies and listening to music 16 hours per day. That is one of the reasons that he began to work with stuff he spent the most time with.
The film for him means a journey through time, a journey of imagination, making dreams come true and a chance to live many live times. He says VIDEO for him is passion, precision, patience, success, denial and pain at the same time!
He did not choose this job to become a millionaire but he has a million ideas and a million reasons to
become the best filmmaker he could be!
Music is like painting, full of emotions that one draw in one’s head. Through music he feel the atmosphere of the film. A good video can only arise in the head of musician or someone who understands music.
When he was a child he used to daydream a lot, every night before going to sleep he was dreaming about his future, although he never knew exactly what he was going to do in his life, all he knew was that he wanted to create stories! Visualization and feelings with the music undertake him and he started to create ..
His early creation started during the teenage crisis. Alcohol, drugs, personal degradation, bad grades, problems at home …
Due to his laziness and irresponsibility, he quit school and started working various heavy physical work. On the other hand in his free time he was completely dedicated to music, he was in love with hip hop and he created music. One could say that it was the best thing in his life, although he never really got the Big Break. But he got something much better … he got the meaning of his path, a true friendship and his safe place to retreat!
Since he had no money with his group he started shooting (filming) the video for hip-hop song by
themselves. At that time he owned Sony digital camera worth 70€ . So one day he decided that he was going to film his first video. … and then it happened. The first time he reconciled video and music he felt the harmony of this work. He got 300 ideas on how to improve the video … even though for that time and equipment his first video was really good.
Back then he had no experience with post production. That night he tossed cadres (scenes) until the
following evening – without stopping ..
It was the first time in his life, he had finished something! The feeling was awesome! It was his new drug, the best feeling that he had ever felt. For the first time in his life he realized that he feel valued and proud on his achievement! Although, the video was never published, because he was looking for perfection!
That was the time he started to learn every day, every weekend, he wanted to advance his work from
project to project. he became addicted!
