Sellah : Music Artist
Sellah was born Whitney-Michael McCloud on September 6 in San Bernardino, California, to parents Whitney Patrick and Teresa McCloud. He’s from an ethnically diverse background, boasting African American, Native American, Scottish, and West Indian ancestry. His father works for the U.S. government and his mother is an educator and philanthropist. He has two older sisters. He spent most of his early life accompanying his government family on trips all over the world. By the time Sellah turned 18, he had lived in over 30 places, in dozens of countries. The experience of interacting with such a rich variety of cultures inspired an enduring interest in ethnology.
Learning incredible discipline from the strict rules and structure of a military family, Sellah had the grit to excel as and NCAA basketball player. However, while living out what felt like someone else’s dream, he decided to change course and give in to his underlying love for fashion and entertainment.
Sellah started off his career in fashion and slowly but surly in 2012 we saw him transition out it into the world of music where he devoted and perfected his talent for music. Through many years of experience have shaped him into the confident, assertive, ambitious individual that his is today. Sellah has since then established himself as a genre bending solo artist exploring the sounds of new aged 80s funk, pop, soul and R&B.
Besides being known as Sellah, he is also the CEO/fashion editor of an online magazine called IMMO, the CEO of a model scouting company called World Models, the Vice President of the record label called VMG (Vanity Music Group) and the manager of celebrity jewelry line, called IMPERARI By Philip David.
He has stepped foot and lived in a multitude of places namely: Germany, China, Japan, Korea, NY, California, Florida, Finland, London, Singapore, Canada, Nigeria, Connecticut, Illinois, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Africa, Spain, Italy, Guam, North Carolina, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Dubai, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Maryland, just to name a few.
In 2009, he was the first black male model to ever work in Shanghai, China. While in China he booked jobs such as, GAP, Polo Ralph Lauren and Le Coq Sportif. During his stay in South Africa, he has booked local and international jobs, such as; Fanta, NIKE, Reebok, Duracell Batteries, Glamour Magazine, GQ Magazine, Mens Health, Cosmo Magazine, TUSH Magazine, Truworths, Woolworths, Markham, Edgars, Jet Club, and various other publications. Under his core companies, high profiled celebrities such as; Alicia Keys, Nina Sky, Bradley Soileau, Xibit, Coco and Breezy and a few others have already collaborated with his on going collectives shared with his business partner, Philip David.
